WHO IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT ASSISTANT (LDA)
California Business and Professional Code §6400 states that a Legal Document Assistant (LDA) provides self-help service to a member of the public who is representing himself or herself in a legal matter. LDA’s can help their customers prepare their legal documents at their specific direction and provide general published factual information that has been written or approved by a legal entity.
Legal Document Assistants must be bonded and registered with the County Clerk in which they conduct their business.
An LDA can prepare their client’s legal documents at a more affordable cost when they know what they want to accomplish and the partners are more or less on the same page. They can save thousands of dollars by hiring an LDA to reach their goals.

BENEFITS OF AN LDA v. ATTORNEY

Meet Dolly
Dolly, the owner of Worryfree Legal Document Services has a rich and diverse background. She was born in India and has lived in California since 1996. She earned her Double Masters in English from Bombay University, India and another Masters in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco, California.
Dolly taught English at a college in Mumbai and has worked as a technical writer in the Bay Area since 1997. She changed tracks and enrolled in paralegal studies in 2016 at Cal State East Bay university earning her paralegal certificate required to be registered as a Legal Document Assistant (LDA). Soon after that she started her own business under the name Worryfree Legal Documents helping clients in their family law battles and preparing Wills and Living Trusts.
Personally, Dolly endured a long and contentious divorce herself, so she understands the pain and expense of going through the legal system. That first-hand experience culminated into the positive realization that it is possible to have a calmer approach and cost-effective way of preparing divorce and custody documents.
Dolly is also a licensed and bonded notary public.
